Eduard British 2-pdr. gun tube for Italeri Crusader Mk.II, in 1/35-scale turned aluminum (34048)

by Frank De Sisto

This gun tube is cleanly turned in aluminum, but that’s apparently the only good thing I can say about it

It is packaged as being for the Crusader Mk. II, and therefore should (I suppose) represent a 2-pdr. (40mm) gun. However, when comparing it to photos in David Fletcher’s Osprey New Vanguard 14: Crusader Cruiser Tank 1939-45, there is no physical resemblance whatsoever to that piece of ordnance. It more closely represents (visually, at any rate!) either the 3-inch CS howitzer or the 6-pdr. (57mm) gun without its muzzle counterweight. But, I cannot be sure. So, either Eduard is mistaken in their packaging and/or designation of what they are providing (not too bad), or they have made a relatively grave error.

Until I know otherwise (I welcome any comments from visitors to this site), this item is not recommended.
