German 38cm Assault Mortar Sturmtiger	Tamiya, 1/48 scale

Here's my latest completed model - Tamiya's brand new 1/48 scale German 38cm Assault Mortar Sturmtiger. This model was built from pre-production test shot sprues, but the final model should be pretty close to this except for the colour of the plastic.

I wasn't really planning to build this one, but I couldn't resist when it arrived a couple of weeks ago.

Tamiya will be releasing a self-adhesive zimmerit sheet but as this is not yet available, I made the zimmerit using Tamiya two-part epoxy putty and a small screwdriver. I also added a set of Voyager Tiger I engine grille mesh, which fitted perfectly.

This is another trouble-free build and a nicely detailed result.

I'll be writing up assembly and the addition of the zimmerit in detail for Issue 133 of Model Military International magazine.
