Description

This model is a basically the recent UM 1/72nd Sd. Kfz. 140 Flakpanzer 38(t) with corrections and detail improvements.

The primary problem with the kit is that the gun pedestal is too large and high, and the 2cm Flak mount is correspondingly squashed.

I built a new pedestal and substituted the more accurate Alby resin Flak 38. Most of the rest of the work was improving detail such as the tracks and stowage and thinning the armor thickness by rebuilding it with sheet plastic.

The figures are from the two Milicast Flak crew sets.

The two scenic shots were Photoshoped on to some photos I took in Normandy in April 2005 in the farm country behind Utah beach.
