U.S. Tank Destroyer M10 Mid Production

Tamiya, 1/35 scale
by Brett Green

Description

Here is my Tamiya 1/35 scale Tamiya's 1/35 scale M10 Gun Motor Carriage. This is a brand new kit built from test shot sprues.

I adapted DEF Model's M10 stowage set, which was designed for the Academy kit. It did not take too much surgery to make it fit the new Tamiya kit though.

The reference photo showed a mystery object on the engine deck. After some consideration, I decided it looked like a rolled up wire fence. I made this from Dio Dump's chicken wire sheet and lengths of plastic strip.

The ID panel is formed from Kneadatite two-part epoxy putty.

The three crew figures are included with the Tamiya kit, and they are up to their recent very high standards.

This another great kit from Tamiya, and a joy to build. I will be describing basic construction in detail in Issue 124 of Model Military International magazine.

Thanks to Tamiya for the sample
