DescriptionHere is my brand-new Tamiya 1:35 scale M36 Jackson US Tank Destroyer. Assembly was as painless as you would expect from any modern Tamiya kit.
I wanted to make the model a bit individual so I added a mattress to the engine deck. This was sourced from Royal Model’s 1:35 Item No. 663, “Mattresses”. Three mattresses are in the box. This was a fun painting project.
Although Tamiya includes some stowage in the form of packs and rolls, I decided to add more. I was drawn to Sol Resin Factory’s Item No. MM685 “Accessories Set for M10” mainly because of the teddy bear perched on the front hull.
Fit of the hull stowage was trouble free, not surprising as the M10 and M36 shared a common hull. This is another instant classic from Tamiya.
Assembly of my M36 is covered in Issue 235 of Model Military International magazine. Painting, weathering, detailing and stowage will appear in a big article in Issue 236. Tamiya kits are distributed in the UK by The Hobby Company Limited
