Late Return Rollers for Tamiya Stug III Ausf.G

Tamiya's 1/48 scale late Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.G supplied the early to mid style rubber rimmed return rollers. Later production Stug IIIGs were actually fitted with one of three styles of all-steel return rollers.

MR Models has now released a conversion set supplying one full set of each of these three styles of return rollers.

The set comprises 36 parts in pale grey-green resin. Six sets of six different parts are supplied. The inner and outer halves of the rollers are cast in one piece each

Casting quality is generally good but around half the wheels have visible pin holes or air bubbles. These will need to be filled prior to assembly.

No instructions are provided, but this should not present a problem as the rollers are simple drop-fir replacements for the kit parts.

The wheels are cast onto narrow casting blocks. Some care will be required to avoid damaging the narrow rim at the point where it connects to the casting strip.

MR Modellbau's Stug IIIG Late Style Return Rollers will be heartily welcomed by 1/48 scale modellers of Axis subjects.
