The Midwest Model Shop has released its first two figure sets. Both depict the well-known Captain Edward John Smith of the RMS Titanic.
First up is a 1/10 scale bust.
This is made up from just three parts. The bust itself is a single impressive 3D print.
The remaining two parts are for a raised plinth with an inscription on the front and markings on the two sides.
The parts are pretty much ready to assemble straight from the box. Some visible raised printing artefacts are visible on the back of the shoulder and his cap. You'll be able to quickly deal with these using a sanding stick and fine abrasive paper.
The parts are printed with deep, securely keyed locating plugs.
Next up is a 120mm full figure. This is made up from six pieces of 3D printed grey coloured resin.
3D printing quality is excellent.
The head, legs, torso, head and cap are printed separately, once again with precise and secure keyed locating plugs.
A base with woodgrain texture is also included.
The only issue are some horizontal striations on the tunic. If they bother you, these will be quickly dealt with using a sanding stick.
These are really nicely sculpted and 3d printed replicas of Captain Edward John Smith the famous Captain of the RMS Titanic. You’ll have some fun painting these up!
