FirstLook

The Czech-built Leichter Panzerjäger 38(t) was produced towards the end of the Second World War for use by the Germans. But some were used by the Czech resistance movement during their attempt to liberate the city of Prague from German occupation over five days in May 1945. They were not complete vehicles as they did not have the 75mm gun, instead they had the opening for the mounting covered by metal plates and machines guns fitted instead.

Star Decals have produced two sets in association with Tomas Jakl based on his book “Prahou pod pancirem Povstalcu” which is acknowledged on the instruction sheets.

  • 35-C1414 has markings for two vehicles which had various slogans painted. These were added to over time so variations could be modelled from the decals provided.

  • 35-C1415 covers two other vehicles with different slogans, Czech flags and dedications to fallen comrades. A cut-out Soviet flag is provided on the instruction sheet.

With their mainly red oxide primer colour and large slogans, these will make distinctive models.
Price for these sets is US$9.50 or GBP10.20 each These can be purchased from various suppliers including Hannants in the UK or direct from http://www.star-decals.net
