I love going to shows as many times there are special products available and this one was from the 2024 AMPS convention. Vargas Models has made a name for itself as a first-rate 3D printed resin company and this is a typical product from them.

What you get are 30 standard US Army 5 gallon jerry cans on a single casting with the fuel type screw-on cap (water cans had a flip-top lid). The printings are neat and include the stamped logos as well as the three-bar handle assembly with daylight under the handles. Purists would note that the back of the can usually had a weld seam where they were closed off during manufacturing so a diehard may want to add the groove.

I have had a Tamiya CCKW sitting on my “shelf of death” for a long time but this is the type of cargo that suits it perfectly.

John Rauscher of Empire Models noted that these will be available from him after the AMPS show so that was good news to hear!
