The diorama

The base of the diorama is a simple squared (38 x 38 cm) piece of pine wood. The base of the Panther turret was done of foam and plastic card. The ground was done with "Dash Pronto", a short of modelling clay. Over this, fine sand and earth was glued. This base was airbrused with matt earth and then drybrushed with several shadows of light brown, tan and ochre colours. The grass is a railroad modelling item, and was dribrushed with dark yellow once fixed to the ground to eliminate the "too green" look. Some natural small branches and herbs were glued here and there. Finally, some light brown and ochre pastels were applied.

The base of the Pantherstellung was painted in a similar way than the turret itself. The fuel drum and empty crates were painted with acrylics

The tankers are from the Dragon reference "US tankers NW Europe" with new Hornet heads. The lieutenant standing in front of the Pantherstellung is from MK35, and its quality is somewhat poor for today's resin figure standards. Again, the original head has been replaced by a Hornet's one. I am far from being a good figure painter. These are my first attempt to paint figures "in a modern way", I mean, by using acrylics and with the "light from above" concept used by my fellow countrymen figure master painters. Well, all I can say is that is not so difficult as I thought, but there is still a long way to go for me to get decent results.
