November 11, 2001 Welcome to the new look of Missing Links Website.  The previous home page design was archaic, and although simple and easy to use, was not up to par stylistically with even the ugliest pages on the web today.  Therefore, a new fresher look was designed while still retaining the familiar "feel" of the site you all know...and hopefully love!  None of this would have been possible without the assistance of the following people:  Dan Oldfield for his graphics and layout expertise, Dana Nield and Darrel Miller for their html technical support and James Blackwell for his keen eye and sense of stylistic balance.

There are a number of new and exciting features on this latest version of ML and a good number of even more exciting changes planned for the near future.  We'll keep you posted as these improvements take place, but for now here are the highlights of the current changes:

- The old front page, although easy to navigate was simply too "long" and required an unnecessary amount of scrolling to navigate.  Therefore, in order to avoid any potential carpel tunnel syndrome lawsuits, the new page is designed to fit on a 800 x 600 screen.  This decision was based on the large number of visitors who use laptops or 15" screens so might seem a little small to those with 19" screens and 1024 x 768 or higher resolutions.  As things progress we will be taking a look at our user base and adjust the screen size upwards if need be to get rid of a slightly "crowded" look that 800 x 600 gives you.  Navigation is now very simple: just go to the left side of the screen to access different sections of the site.  In addition, other pages now have a new bottom navigation bar which mirrors the front page one.  Missing links is now an exclamation free zone:  Due to a number of incidents where visitors under certain medication would incur seizures when seeing too many exclamation marks on the front page, we have now removed this feature.

- You may have noticed that Missing Links is now featuring vendor banners on it's front page.  Numerous vendors had been requesting banner space on our front page for the last 2 years and we have finally made this option open to them.  We have offered this space to a number of high profile organisations in our industry who have forged a reputation for good service and quality products.  We have selected a broad cross section in the industry ranging from magazine publishers to aftermarket manufacturers to specialty armour stores to larger retailers.  Many of you are already familiar with these vendors, please visit them and find out what's new at their respective websites.  Also new is a section of the site called The Vendors Room.  This section allows Vendors to display a banner and some informational text about their company and is open to any vendors who are interested in participating.

- Miguel "MIG" Jimenez debuts the new Rarities World section of Missing Links Website:  Many ML visitors are familiar with this Spaniard's revolutionary finishing techniques and now you can learn from MIG himself.  Two new sections have been added: The Wonderful Rain Marks World and Put a Filter in Your Life

- The Missing Links Discussion Groups have their own section which allows the front page to be cleaner.  Missing Links Discussion Groups Main Page is simply a portal to access any of the 17 DGs and 1 chat room on this site.

- You may noticed that we have added a new DG called Missing Links Modelling Challenge.  Some visitors might remember the Leopard 2A5 and Steyr 1500 building projects entitled "Operation Leopard Colony" and "Operation Bum Steyr" from last year.  There is no better way for modellers to have a few laughs, enjoy themselves and learn new things than during one of these "group builds".  There is no greater satisfaction than a friendly pat on the back or email saying "That is a great model, excellent work.  BTW, how did you..." from one of your peers.  Medals and awards seem trivial compared to interacting with friends and receiving a positive word from fellow modellers.  Group builds between 5 or 10 people are easy to manage, however with over 7500 vistors per day, this is a little too much for us to upload to the image galleries!  Therefore, we have decided to open a new discussion group which will allow all ML visitors to participate in a global "group build".  Specific subjects will be chosen on a bi-monthly basis and all modellers are welcome to upload any construction, progress, finished photos of that particular subject matter and share them with the rest of the ML visitors.  So for the next 2 months...take those kits out of your attic, ask questions, strut your stuff and join in on the fun and ...start building:  SHERMAN OR SHERMAN VARIANTS.

- One of our long term projects on Missing links was to harness the incredible knowledge base of our discussion groups to create "Tweaks Lists".  A Tweaks List is simply a resource which analyses model kits and determines what modifications can be made to make them more accurate.  How far you want to go is determined by the modeller, the information is there waiting to be used.  James Blackwell and Dan Oldfield have been instrumental in finally getting this pet project of our off the ground.  The first installment in the Missing Links Tweaks List series is the Tiger II and is compiled from information posted on our discussion groups by James Blackwell and Lawrence Goh.  These lists will appear in the Think Tank as they are published.  As with everything else on Missing links website, these Tweaks Lists are free for download by all visitors.  The Tweaks Lists are in an adobe Acrobat format which makes them both attractive on screen and easy to print.  If you don't have Acrobat, simply follow the link and download a free version of Acrobat Reader.  We invite any ML visitor who has any information, corrections or who is interested in helping with the Tweaks Lists to contact us and we'd be grateful for any assistance in compiling this powerful modelling tool.

Again, I would like to stress that the strength of this website is it's contributors.  I am amazed on a daily basis by the wealth of knowledge contributed on these pages by our visitors.  Missing Links is simply the blank canvas, you are the artists.  Thanks very much to all visitors for your positive feedback and input in the past, take a look around, kick up your feet and enjoy the new Missing Links Website.

November 11th is remembrance day here in Canada, let's all take a moment of silence and reflect on the sacrifices of veterans everywhere.

September 1, 2001 One of the most forgotten tools in the modeller's arsenal is the airbrush.  Many people seem content to spend piles of money on kits but yet don't want to buy the right equipment, this is a shame as a $200.00 resin kit can be easily ruined by a $35.00 airbrush.  In this update I do a review of the complete Tamiya High Grade Airbrush Line.  There have been many questions on the discussion groups regarding this line of airbrush, this review should help answer many of these questions.

July 21, 2001 One of the great things about the internet is the ease of access to information from every corner of the globe and the ability to make new modelling acquaintances from far off lands.  As with out Japanese language and Spanish language discussion groups, Missing Links realises that although English is a very common language, there are many modellers out there who would like to participate but are unsure of their English skills.  In order to facilitate this exchange of information and create a sense of global commmunity here on ML, we have launch in conjunction with the premier French language AFV modelling magazine Steel Masters a new French language discussion group hosted by French weathering maestro Gilles Peiffer.  Let's make a big effort to welcome our Francophone friends and make them feel at home on ML.

March 21, 2001 Following some great suggestions from some Missing Links readers,  a new discussion group has been created whose focus is to allow modellers to display their latest projects using "in progress" photos as a sort of "virtual workbench".  AFV modellers can now get quick feedback  from their fellow modellers and share some construction and finishing techniques.  The new discussion group is named Constructive Comments.  Please feel free to post images of your latest project and share your modelling experiences with the rest of us.  Please remember to read the image posting instructions located at the top of the discussion group main page.  Again, many thanks to all the Missing Links readers who have contributed so many great ideas on how to improve this site.

I had been looking for ways to spice up the Back to Basics discussion group and get rid of the beginner stigma associated with this group.  The group has been re-named "Trick and Tips with Terry Ashley" and is now geared towards all general model building & finishing techniques.  Terry is an extremely accomplished modeller who builds in almost every possible genre, so I think he's the man for the job to share all sorts of techniques that crossover between modelling styles and genres.  Thanks for the help Terry!

March 3, 2001 Modellers who are planning on attending the AMPS 2001 convention will want to check out our AMPS 2001 Events/Announcement Page for important information on how to obtain your Missing Links name badges (so you can identify the ML readers you've been chatting with on the DGs for the last 2 years!) and other ML related events going on during the AMPS weekend, including "A Stroll In the Park with Thomas L. Jentz".  Join Tom for a tour of Aberdeen Proving Ground for a real "hands on" 2 hour question and answer session on German WWII AFVs.  This ML sponsored event is free of charge and is a great opportunity to exchange information and ask questions while taking a close look at the variety of German WWII AFVs assembled at APG.

February 20, 2001 The list of ML contributors continues to grow at voracious rate as they are sucked into the Missing Links tractor beam.  It's a really good feeling to see this site's popularity continue to grow exponentially with no decline in both quality and quantity of material.  A website is only as good as the strength of it's submissions, many thanks to all of our contributors for continuing to provide such a impressive standard of material and to all of our visitors for the high level of discourse on the discussion groups.  Here are 2 more talented modellers who have just joined the ML team:  Spanish modeller Diego " El Hombre Loco" Quijano makes his ML debut with 4 images of his beautifully weathered KV-1, could there be a new MIG on the frontier?  British modeller Graham Tetley makes his triumphant ML debut with 8 images of his superb IDF Centurian Ben Gurion.  Thanks alot guys for joining the the dark side.  Added the following reviews:  Warriors MW007 - M109 A1/A3 detail and accessory set, Custom Dioramics CD6020 Musical Instruments, Custom Dioramics CD6021 City Square Fountain, Custom Dioramics CD1118 Shop Interior/Archway Ruin and Custom Dioramics CD7001 Canal Dyke Diorama (France WWII).
February 19, 2001 Due to the overwhelming demand from English speaking modellers who would like an insight into the arcane "black magic" that Miguel "MIG" Jimenez uses to create his masterpieces, MIG has been kind enough, with the help of Luciano and Alvaro Rodriguez of CMT, to translate a series of Rarities World "How-to" articles into English exclusively for Missing Links website.  The first installment in this great series is Chipped Painted Fever  where we all get a chance to learn the techniques behind MIG's stunning results.  Thanks for sharing these techniques with us MIG!

February 3, 2001 As with any website, the success of Missing Links can be measured by the credibility of it's contributors.  The ML team can can count amongst it's members some of the best modellers and AFV historians on the planet, a fact that brings great pride to the administration of this website.  This tradition continues at Missing Links with our latest addition to the ML team .

In the field of German WWII AFV research there are 2 names which stand above the rest for accuracy and integrity in research:  Jentz and Doyle.  Missing Links Website is extremely proud to announce a new section of our website entitled PANZERFACTS with Thomas L. Jentz and Hilary L. Doyle.  With each installment, the team of Jentz and Doyle will provide Missing Links readers with groundbreaking new information, insight into their 30 years of AFV research and  the debunking of myths and fallacies that shroud German WWII AFVs.  So without further ado, I'd like to welcome Tom and Hilary to Missing Links and on behalf of the readership, we are all looking forward to further installments of PANZERFACTS.

January 25, 2001 One of the benefits of the internet is that it allows people from many different cultures to communicate and exchange information in an easy to use setting.  Unfortunately for many people who are not comfortable enough with the English language, this means that they may feel shy or intimidated to communicate with other ML visitors in the standard discussion groups.

The success of our Japanese language discussion group convinced me that another important bridge across the language barrier was needed.  Today Missing Links is taking yet another step to allow visitors from different cultures the opportunity to exchange ideas in their native tongue and for English speaking ML visitors to perhaps try their hand at communicating in a language other than English and make some new friends from other countries.

A large number of Missing Links readers have suggested that since Spanish is the 3rd most spoken language on the planet that the time was due for a Spanish language discussion group.  Missing Links is extremely proud to have well known Spanish uber-modeller Miguel Jimenez "MIG" host the Missing Links/Rarities World Spanish Language Discussion Group.  So on behalf of the entire Missing Links staff I'd like to welcome MIG to the team and welcome all of our Spanish visitors to this new discussion group.  Bienvenido a Missing Links!

November 23, 2000 After great deliberation the Missing Links staff have determined that the contest entries were of such a high calibre that making a decision in many of the categories was extremely difficult and would be unfair to many of the participants who did such a great job on the articles.

Therefore we have no choice but to let you, the Missing Links readership, decide the results of the contest by conducting a vote.  In each category you can only vote once (note to people from Florida: this means only one vote per category) at which point the top 3 vote-getters per category will take 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

This voting period will end Thurday November 30 (note to Florida residents:  this means it ends November 30, 2000) at which point we will tabulate the votes for each first place winner, create one last poll and let the readership decide the "best of show".  Our apologies to all the contest participants for the delay, but we feel this is the most democratic and fair way to proceed with this contest.

Please go here and place your votes:  Missing Links Contest Page.

February 22, 2000 One of the most difficult parts of our hobby is painting realistic figures to go along with our AFV models.  A well painted figure will add that "Je ne sais quoi" to a well finished AFV model and impart a sense of scale to the finished product.  Mark Bannerman has graciously prepared a step by step article which will follow each step involved in painting a 1/35 scale figure head.   This is a continuously evolving article which will be updated as Mark progresses further into the steps involved with painting his figure.  The article is entitled Painting 1/35 Scale Heads Using Oils "The Bannerman Way" and contains a large image for each step of the process.  We will be annoucning each update in this article in the what's new index.  Highly recommended for anyone interested in adding that final touch to their models.  Many thanks to Mark for taking the time out of his schedule to prepare this article for Missing Links website.
February 21, 2000 Two new gallery entries have been added:  Dan Rowbottom continues to buy styrene in 4' x 8' sheets - 6 images of Dan's scratchbuilt T-23.   Jorge Lopez returns with 3 images of his Ford GPA.  Thanks guys!
February 19, 2000 Floris Lok has again come through for Missing Links and continues with the very popular series of Think Tank entries on modern Russian armour.   In today's update, 19 absolutely stunning images from Grozny have been added to the Think Tank in Modern Russian AFVs in Action - Chechnya 2000 part 3.  Also, we'd like to welcome Ulf Andersson to the Missing Links gallery with 5 images of his M4A3 Sherman HVSS.   Many thanks to Floris and Ulf!
February 18, 2000 A real treat for German WWII Armour modellers in today's update:  Tom Cockle returns with 19 images of his Tiger I Ausf. E Early Version in the gallery.  Recently on Panzertalk there has been some discussion of late war German Kampfgruppe Schulze and the equipment they used.  David E. Brown has been kind enough to share The End of Kampfgruppe Schulze Images from April 1945.  Although the images are a little scratched up, they nonetheless show some interesting details, particularly Tiger I "F13", a late steelwheel hull with an early turret...complete with zimmerit!   Enjoy!
February 17, 2000 Steve Zaloga is building at Warp 9 again!!  Added Steve's latest project: Italian 47/32 Anti Tank Gun with paratroopers to the Missing Links gallery.  Look for a full construction article in an upcoming issue of Military Modelling.  Also, a very interesting addition to the Think Tank from Tomasz Basarabowicz for all those interested in obscure armour topics, 9 unpublished images of Japanese AFVs in action 1930's.  Painting figures, especially their faces is an art form on it's own, well known figure modeller Mark Bannerman returns with the first of a series of step by step articles on painting faces. In this installment, Mark gives us a basic rundown of what techniques are involved in successfully painting a 1/35 scale figure head in Painting 1/35 scale heads in 8 steps.  Last but not least, Peter Brown keeps adding to his "Wall of Doom" reference collection and reviews Steve Zaloga's latest Concord Publications book US Half Tracks in Combat 1941-1945 for us.  Thanks to all our contributors for making this large update possible!
February 16, 2000 Many new items added to the website:  Miguel Jimenez creates another ultra-realistic model based upon a well known photograph with his KV-2 used by the Germans to defend the Krupp plant in 1945.  Also added 4 new Braille Scale entires in the gallery:  Stephen Brezinski's KV-1 and Tiger I Ausf. E, Matt Bittner's Sdkfz 265 Panzer I Command Tank and Bjorn Backlund's Skoda 35(t).  A new Think Tank entry has been added courtesy of Tomasz Basarabowicz, this time Tomasz shares us his GAZ AA Reference Images with us.  Last but not least, John Prigent reviews Chesapeake Model Designs #28 Stug G Early Conversion and I review AJ Press Tank Power Panther volume 3 .  Many thanks to all of contributors!
February 15, 2000 Mark Bannerman is on a rampage!  Added Mark's first Missing Links figure painting article entitled Painting a German SS Eichenlaubmuster (Oak Leaf Pattern) and 2 gallery entries: Stuart "Honey" and Sdkfz 263.   Also a real treat for small scale modellers as Stephen Brezinski shows us how it's done in Modelling the PST IS-2 Stalin Tank.  Thanks guys!
February 14, 2000 Ron Puttee has been a very busy man.  Here's the proof: 18 images of Ron's Dragon Wagon with Sherman M4A3 HVSS have been added to the gallery.  Thanks Ron!
February 12, 2000 Missing Links would like to welcome 3 new gallery contributors:  Mark Bannerman with his Kfz 13 "Adler" & Sdkfz 231 (6 rad), Adam Wilder with his T50 Light Tank and Nick Balmer with his Lanchester Armoured Car.   Also added Peter Brown's article on the Morris Light Recce Car Mk I.  Many thanks to all our contributors!
February 11, 2000 The Mighty MIG strikes again!!  Miguel Jimenez returns to the Missing Links gallery with a vengeance.  In today's update MIG shares his M-978 Hemtt Oshkosh fuel tanker with us.  The fuel stains on this incredible model are so realistic that you can almost smell the fumes.  Also, Peter Brown provides us with another well researched review, this time the AFV Club British CVR(T) FV101 Scorpion gets the once over by Peter.  Thanks guys!
February 10, 2000 Blackwell is back!!  James Blackwell returns to the Missing Links gallery with 5 images of his Zis 5V truck & Zis 3 76.2mm A/T gun.  Working at speeds which would shame most top fuel dragsters, James cranked out these models, including figures, in a mere 4 days.  Very scary...    We'd like to welcome Stefano De Paolis from Italy to the Missing Links gallery with his diorama entitled "Jabos".   Added the following new reviews: Royal Models US Army/Tank Equipment and Squadron Signal Walk Around M4 Sherman.
February 9, 2000 Missing Links has a new look! You may have noticed the new front page design by now.  We have included all major website functions in a "Command Centre" for easy access with the discussion groups in their own table below this.  We had found from user feedback that the old front page was getting very cluttered and much too busy. This new format maintains all the features of the old one but with a much tidier format.  Tom Cockle strikes again with his Sdkfz 222 with interior detailing.  13 images of this highly detailed model have been added to the Missing Links gallery.  The Think Tank continues to expand, this time with M7 Priest Reference Images from Claudio Cioffi.  These images were formerly located on Gray's AFV page.  Enjoy!
February 8, 2000 We continue the theme of modern Russian armour in Grozny with Modern Russian AFVs in Action - Chechnya 2000 part 2.  As stated below in part 1, well worth a look at even if you don't happen to be interested in modern armour, simply fabulous weathering examples.  Missing Links would like to welcome Dan Rowbottom to our group of contributors.  In today's gallery entry, Dan has scratchbuilt a T29 Heavy Tank.  11 images of this very impressive model have been added to the gallery, Dan must be a shareholder in Evergreen, lots of white plastic on this one!  John Prigent has completed building the DML Pak 38 5 cm A/T gun and shares his experiences building this latest release from DML.  Many thanks to all Missing Links contributors for allowing us to offer such a large variety of AFV related material to our readers.  We have also added a new feature on our front page which we call the "preview pane".  This allows Missing Links readers to quickly scan if there has been any new gallery items, articles or other "graphic" additions to the website contents. Each subject has a small thumbnail which can be clicked on to enlarge it.  We hope you will find this feature to be convenient.
February 6, 2000 More unpublished images from the inexhaustible archives of Tomasz Basarabowicz.  This time Tomasz shares with us very rare images of the Skoda 305mm model 1911 Heavy Mortar in the Think Tank.  As always, thanks to Tomasz for sharing his archives with Missing links readers.
February 5, 2000 A real treat for modern armour fans in this update.   Missing Links has obtained a large collection of images taken during the the current conflict in Chechnya.  Part 1 of Modern Russian AFVs in Action - Chechnya 2000, begins with 20 images in the Think Tank.  These crisp, full colour images are not only valuable for modern Russian armour fans, but also for figure painters and as a valuable "real life" weathering guide for all AFV modellers, regardless of which era you prefer.  Enjoy!
February 4, 2000 Added 3 new book reviews from John Prigent: Tuskers - An Armor Battalion in the Gulf War, Darlington Productions Panzerkampfwagen VI P (Sdkfz 181) and the long awaited Nuts and Bolts vol. 12 - Schwere Zugkraftwagen 18ton and Variants - FAMO "Bulle" (Sd. Kfz. 9)
February 2, 2000 Missing Links would like to welcome Tom Cockle to the model gallery.  Tom's first contribution is 15 images of a Tiger II Porsche Turret in a scenic setting.  Be on the lookout for more models from Tom in the near future.
February 1, 2000 One of the most distinctive aspects of James Backwell's models is that they are almost always based on a specific vehicle and timesetting.  In this update, James shares his arcane "Tiger secrets" with Missing Links readers and demonstrates in a step by step manner the incredible amount of detail that goes into one of his creations, including very detailed information on converting figures.  Sd.Kfz. 267/268 Befhelswagen Tiger I - Mid Production from s.Pz.Abt. 507 is the first, but hopefully not the last of these articles from James.  Many thanks to James for sharing his secrets with Missing Links!
January 31, 2000 While the majority of the planet is wondering when the AFV Club M10 will become available in their area, Steve Zaloga has already built, painted and placed the model in a scenic setting!  6 photos of Steve's stunning M10 Tank Destroyer have been added to the gallery.  Look for a full construction article in a future issue of Military Modelling.  Thanks Steve!
January 30, 2000 Inspired by the recent addition to the Think Tank of unpublished images of   the Covenanter Tank in Polish service, Peter Brown has created yet another "magnum opus" research article.  This time Peter dissects the this relatively obscure vehicle in The Covenanter Tank in Detail.  I would suggest that you print out this article to read it as it is quite large.  Added the following models by Barry Beaudry to the gallery:  Merkava Mark 3, 120mm Russian Officer, 120mm Russian Tanker, 120mm SS Grenadier and 120mm US Infantry.   Thanks to Peter and Barry for contributing to Missing Links.
January 26, 2000 Missing Links is sad to announce that Gray's AFV page will no longer be on the web.  For those who don't know, Gray Creager started one of the first and certainly the most comprehensive AFV reference image page on the internet.   Unfortunately, due to time considerations, Gray is no longer able to maintain this page.  Missing Links has made arrangements with Gray and his contributors to move the content of Gray's AFV Page over to the Missing Links Think Tank.  We will be gradually integrating the contents of Gray's AFV page into the Think Tank.  In this update, we are pleased to present 14 images of a Sherman M4A1 (W) 76mm submitted by Claudio Cioffi.  Many thanks to Gray for making this arrangement (and all his hard work over the years!) and to those contributors who were generous enough to share their images with the Missing Links readership.
January 25, 2000 Eagle-eyed Missing Links reader Val Bueno made the astute observation that Missing Links website did not have a "Lynx" in the Think Tank reference image section.  Well, Val has corrected this situation and has graciously shared with us 25 Panzer II Ausf. L "Luchs" Reference Images.  These pictures should prove invaluable when building the ICM or Techmod kits.  Thanks  Val!
January 23, 2000 It's double whammy time at Missing Links!!  Thanks to Dutch modeller Theo Naus, we are pleased to present a double feature on the M88A1 Recovery Vehicle.  First, Theo presents a construction article using AFV Club's excellent M88A1 kit along with MR Model's interior set.  Next, Theo shares 34 reference images of the M88A1 with us in the Think Tank.  Thanks Theo for your contribution to Missing Links!
January 21, 2000 Added the following gallery entries: Frederico Kereki's ISU-152 and Carlos de Diego Vaquerizo's M10 Tank Destroyer.  Added 2 new book reviews by Peter Brown: Russian Tanks and Armoured Vehicles 1917-1945 and Russian Tanks and Armoured Vehicles 1946 to the Present.
January 18, 2000 Peter Brown and Tomasz Basarabowicz have both pointed out that 2 of the vehicles in yesterday's Covenanter in Polish service Think Tank entry (images #7&9) are actually Crusader Mark IIs.  Added Frederico Kereki's M4A3E8 Sherman to the gallery. Thanks guys.
January 17, 2000 Due to the amount of positive feedback we have received for the new discussion group format, we have switched over the news groups to this new server.   The old groups will remain online for a period of time so you can go back and save any information you wish to keep for future use.  We have added a link on the front page so you can access the old groups.  In today's update, Missing Links continues to expand upon our Think Tank reference photos section by adding some unpublished images of the Covenanter in Polish service from Missing Links reader Tomasz Basarabowicz.  Thanks Tomasz!
January 16, 2000 We'd like to welcome Ben Jakobsen to Missing Links website.   Ben is the gentleman who creates the masters for many of Jaguar's and Warrior's kits, as well as other companies.  In today's update, Ben presents his Tiger I Ausf. E Early Version which was created in 1987 using the old Tamiya kit.  Ben scratchbuilt a new hull, among other many other parts, for the vehicle which totals over 2000 parts.   Thanks Ben for contributing to Missing Links!
January 15, 2000 Added in-box reviews of some eagerly awaited AFV Club kits: AFV Club #35024 M10 Tank Destroyer and AFV Club Sherman family suspension accessories.
January 14, 2000 Wondering what to do with all those Tamiya Centaur/Cromwell kits piled up in your kit closet?  How about a Greek Centaur in postwar service with a turret mounted .50 cal Browning?  Well, Angelos Sanopoulos and Christos Kalfopoulo have come to the recuse of Missing Links readers.  They have  provided Missing Links with unpublished images of the Centaur in postwar Greek service reference photos  for use on our website.  Very interesting and would make a very unique model.  Also added a very detailed construction article by Matthew Malogorski on Superdetailing the DML T80 with ERA.  Photographs will be added to this article in the near future, but just in case one of you is building it at the moment and cannot wait for the images, it will prove very handy when building this model.  Many thanks to Angelos, Christos and Matthew!
January 13, 2000 Due to the recent Y2K problems our discussion server was experiencing and the ocassional intermitent service outage, we have been investigating new discussion group servers.  We believe that we have found one which is as easy to use as the previous ones, but with some interesting new features as well.  Therefore we have decided to perform a "beta" test using the PanzerTalk discussion group as the test group for this new format.  The main page PanzerTalk URL will now point to this new format.  The URL :  New PanzerTalk Discussion Group.  These new discussion groups have a number of interesting features that may interest many users:  a
"display all messages" button, which allows you to display all messages and replies on a current page onto one single page which will allow for easy archiving, and a "send response to my email" option which will automatically send the response to your message to your email address in case you wish to keep the answer in your inbox (very handy for some of James' 5000 word posts).  The old group will still remain online for an undetermined period as we test out the new group and gather user feedback, so you have plenty of time to copy any older messages that you wish to keep for reference.   The other discussion groups will remain as is for the time being until we gather enough user feedback to make a decision.  Please feel free to use this new discusion group and comment on it's features.  Thanks in advance for your support.
January 12, 2000 In anticipation of the new Dragon 1/35 kit, or for those who wish to detail the 1/9 scale release, Val Bueno has been kind enough to share 25 reference images of the Sd.kfz 2 Kettenkraftrad at the Saumur museum with Missing Links website.  Here is the direct link to the Sd.kfz 2 Kettenkraftrad Reference Images.  Thanks Val!
